Our client is a leader in professional publishing and is a provider of pioneering online and software solutions. Our client’s products and services change the way the world shares information through a unique combination of authoritative content, powerful online research and advanced productivity tools, delivering vibrant solutions that transform organisations.

Reporting to the Director (Public Sector) you will be responsible for profitably growing revenue from a range of designated accounts within the local authority and public sector group. You will also prospect, secure and implement the full mix of products and services and act as the market expert as per the defined market segment and create powerful customer relationships at senior decision-maker level. In addition you will work alongside other stakeholder departments (e.g. editorial, training, marketing, credit control and business development) to ensure an integrated approach to customer care and to ensure market needs are being met.

You will have demonstrable field sales experience ideally gained from a business-to-business environment combined with a proven track record of working successfully in a challenging and commercially driven sales environment. You will also have demonstrable experience of retaining, growing and winning new customers and of building and maintaining excellent client relationships. Ideally you will have a background in selling a complex/multi-faceted solution or service and you will have the ability to spot commercial opportunities. Strong negotiation and communication skills will also be required.
